The Holmdel Theatre Company announces their production of You Can’t Take It with You.

HOLMDEL, NJ – The Holmdel Theatre Company hurtles into their 30th season of shows with the announcement of their production of You Can’t Take It with You.

A comedic play in three acts, You Can’t Take It with You is one of the most popular and successful plays of modern times. Written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the play first premiered on Broadway in 1936 and ran for over 800 shows. Holmdel Theatre Company’s production, proudly directed by Jake Oliver, premieres October 26th and will run through November for a total of nine showings.

This smash-hit follows sweet-natured Alice Sycamore and banker’s son Tony Kirby’s engagement and the introduction of their families to one another. However, Alice’s peculiar extended family may prove to be far too eccentric for the straight-laced Kirby’s to handle.

“You Can’t Take It with You is a wonderful classic about being true to yourself, and that definitely still holds up today,” Oliver said. This will be his first time directing a show for the Holmdel Theatre Company, and his take on the classic is highly anticipated by the local theatre community and the cast of the show.

The official cast announcement can be found on the theatre company’s Facebook page, where they will share a stream of updates and behind the scenes exclusives leading up to the show’s premiere.

About the upcoming production, new Artistic Director of the Holmdel Theatre Company, Kathy Connolly, had this to say: “We are thrilled to kick off our season with a really funny and talented cast in You Can't Take It with You. We are very excited to have 4 productions this season, plus our amazing gala!”

With a talented cast and dedicated production team, Holmdel Theatre Company is ready to wow audiences and kick off their 30th season with a dazzling production of You Can’t Take It with You.
