Cabaret Gala (Official Post Press Release)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Monday, October 8, 2018

Holmdel Theatre Company’s 30th Season kick-off Cabaret Gala a smash hit in Holmdel!

The Holmdel Theatre Company welcomed their 30th Season on October 1st, 2018 with their Cabaret Gala, a celebration of Broadway music and the local arts community.

A sold out crowd packed the historic Duncan Smith Theater Monday night to chat and dine in the beautifully decorated lobby, filled with refreshments generously donated by local businesses, before the three headliners took to the stage.

Broadway stars Jenn Gambatese, Gaelen Gilliland, and Rema Webb filled the night with stunning performances and medleys of Broadway classics, even a song that didn’t make the final cut of a popular Broadway show. Accompanist Andrew Kosinski assisted all performers.

Later in the evening, Holmdel student Jordan Gilbert joined Jenn Gambatese on stage to perform a duet of the song “For Good” from the hit Broadway show Wicked, a touching moment for both the performers and the audience as a veteran of the theatre world worked side-by-side with a non-professional in a historic space dedicated to teaching and community.

“That really is our mission statement, connecting professionals in the theatre world with students and giving them a space to work together,” said Kathy Connolly, Artistic Director of Holmdel Theatre Company and organizer of the Gala.

Holmdel Theatre Company is excited to strengthen their bond with the local Holmdel community in the organization’s 30th season, from working with aspiring theatre professionals, to local businesses. The Cabaret Gala was a grand showcase of all the area has to offer and was sponsored entirely by local businesses and figures, a celebration and ode to the community.

“Thank you to our very generous sponsors,” said Board President Gregory Snyder. “You helped make possible a wonderful event to remember and treasure.”

JGS Insurance, GluckWalrath LLP, Gallo’s Wine Cellar, Patricia’s of Holmdel, Dearborn Market, Holmdel High School Culinary Arts Center, Mayor Tom Critelli, and Holmdel Committeemen Mike Nikolis and Eric Hinds were the night’s sponsors and honorees.

The Gala might be over, but the Holmdel Theatre Company has so much more in store. The theater’s 30th season is packed with exciting productions and events. Season Subscriptions can be purchased on the Holmdel Theatre Company website.

As a staple in the community, Holmdel Theatre Company hopes to continue their mission as a regional destination for art and culture, as well as a place to mentor to young theatre students, and relies on the contributions of generous friends and supporters.
