John Astin will be appearing
in several benefit performances for the Holmdel Theatre Company at the Duncan
Smith Theatre. Mr. Astin is well-known and respected for his varied
career in theatre, film, and television as well as his widely acclaimed one-man
play Edgar Allan Poe: Once Upon a Midnight which he performed for the
benefit of the Holmdel Theatre Company several years ago.
In addition to his theatre,
film, and television career, Mr. Astin is currently the Director for the Program
in Theatre Arts & Studies at Johns Hopkins University where he teaches courses
in acting, directing, contemporary theatre and film, play production and stage
management.
In “An Evening with John Astin”
- specially designed for his appearances at the Duncan Smith Theater - Mr. Astin
will present an evening of readings, storytelling, anecdotes and reflections on
acting. There is sure to be a lively “Q & A” at the end of each performance.
Two benefit performances will
be held on Friday and Saturday, June 27th and 28th, at 8 p.m. in the Duncan
Smith Theater, Crawfords Corner Rd., Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Ticket prices
are $30 pre-sale (until June 17th) and $35 (after June 17th and at the door).
