Through our theatre arts instruction, young artists experience the responsibilities and satisfaction of stage work. Workshops are intensive 3 to 4-week programs open to all students aged 13 to 18, disabled and able-bodied without audition. They are designed to nurture budding talents by creating a safe haven where students feels comfortable performing and receiving constructive feedback. This is done through improvisations, theatre games, scene studies and monologue work.
For 2010, we are excited to introduce two actor workshops specifically designed for high school students who would like to study their craft under the tutelage of professional actors and directors. These workshops are being offered free of charge in accordance with our mission to provide opportunities to committed young students of the theater. No audition is necessary. Please call the theater at 732-946-0427 or email info@holmdeltheatrecompany.org for more information.

AUDITION TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP
Taught by Geoff Shields*
Sat Feb 27, Mar 6 and Mar 13 from 9am to 12pm
This workshop deals with the many issues facing the emerging artist in real audition situations. We will help you find pieces to use during future auditions as well as how to prepare mentally and physically for any audition situation. We will create a safe haven where the student feels comfortable performing and receiving constructive feedback in a safe environment.
SCENE STUDY WORKSHOP
Taught by Ken Wiesinger
Sat Sep 18, 25 and Oct 3 from 9am to 12pm
This workshop encourages students to abandon the trappings of “Character” and bring their whole selves to their work as actors. The course would focus on allowing students to use their own emotions and experiences as the unique tools that they alone can bring to any production.
