An
intimate theatre experience
Small
stage productions are the jewels of contemporary American theatre.
Those of the Holmdel Theatre Company shine brightly among them.
Here, classics of all kindsfrom Romeo and Juliet and
A
Midsummer Night's Dream to Arms and the Man and Godspellengage
audiences in a closer, more affecting way. By tackling such challenging,
contemporary plays as Arcadia, Reckless and Picasso at the
Lapin Agile, we give you a front row seat to the most exciting
and imaginative theatre anywhere.
An
evening with the Holmdel Theatre Company is relaxed, personal and
highly professional. Making this cozy, sophisticated informality
possible is The Duncan Smith Theater. Congenial and warm, this historic,
125-year-old barn has been transformed into a modern, fully air-conditioned
facility with 99 comfortably cushioned seats.
Named
for the late Duncan Smith, a young theatre enthusiast described
as "the knot that tied us all together" by colleagues, the Theatre
continues to draw actors and audiences closer together in a most
remarkable fashion.
Theatre
of the heart
A
love for theatre sparked the spirited endeavor that has become today's
Holmdel Theatre Company. While we've grown in recognition and accomplishment,
the Company has never outgrown its heart. Audiences can feel it
in the intensity and quality of every performance. It's there for
you to experience every time you spend an evening with the Holmdel
Theatre Company.
